History

Peterman Associates, Inc., founded by Glen A. Peterman in 1939, was previously known as Peterman and Harvey, and was located in Fostoria, Ohio. The company relocated to Findlay, Ohio in 1948 and established what is now known as Peterman Associates, Inc.  Today, as Peterman Associates, Inc., we employ over thirty four full time employees with a wide range of talent and experience and we still have our corporate office located in Findlay, Ohio.

Our goal is to provide quality professional service to our clients. With this strong commitment, we have been in business for over six decades. Client satisfaction results in long term relationships which accounts for the majority of our business.

Professional Services

Peterman Associates, Inc. corporate office is located in Findlay, Ohio.  We offer a wide range of professional services. These services include architectural design, construction management, engineering, environmental, planning, structural engineering, and surveying services. Peterman Associates, Inc. is licensed in several states and is qualified to perform work for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

Facility and Equipment

The offices at Peterman Associates, Inc. are composed of an Administration, Architectural, Engineering, and Surveying Department.

The Administration Department handles billings, general marketing activities, staff coordination, and general office management. The administrative services are handled from our Findlay, Ohio office.

The Architectural Department provides professional design services for a wide range of clientele. Whether your need is commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, retail or residential, our staff is quite experienced in providing our clients with various design layouts that will meet your specific needs. Should you wish to expand your existing facility, we can provide you a design that you most certainly will like.

The Engineering Department is composed of a staff of engineers with a wide variety of experience in airport design, civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, structural analysis, water and wastewater treatment, combined sewer overflow studies, infrastructure analysis, facilities studies, economic analysis and assistance planning, land use planning, site analysis, construction management services, and general surveying.

Our Survey Department is one of the largest in the State of Ohio. Our surveyors are skilled in the tasks necessary for boundary surveys, topographic surveys, American Land Title Association/American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ALTA/ACSM) land title surveys, GPS/GIS, and other data collection tasks needed at the start of any project. Once the design and architectural plans are complete, our crews have extensive construction staking skills which can be provided to our clients' project managers and superintendents.

Peterman Associates is committed in keeping up to date with technology. Our offices are fully networked allowing our technical personnel in both offices quick and easy access to the data necessary to serve our clients' needs. The majority of the design in our offices is performed using a combination of software. AutoCAD 2000 and MicroStation V8 are the base platforms utilized in the preparation of construction plans. Other modules such as Land Development and GeoPack allow our design professionals to model specific requirements, providing our clients with a final product meeting or exceeding their expectations. Additional software such as AASHTO Pavement Analysis Software, AutoCAD Map, Auto Architect, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow (Storm Sewers, Hydrographs, and Open Channels), Pacsoft CivilMaster, WaterCAD, and Hydronet are used to provide additional design information to supplement our base software.  Peterman's commitment for the latest in survey technology is evident by recently purchasing a Robotic Total Station for TOPO Surveys and Construction Staking as well as upgraded TDS Data Collector software.

Peterman Associates, Inc. has the capability of producing both color and black and white drawings. This ability has proven useful for preparing presentations to illustrate the various aspects of a particular project both in public and private sectors.

Reports, contracts, bidding documents and various data analyses are prepared using FoxPro, MasterSpec, Lotus, Word, WordPerfect, Excel, and Quattro Pro. The specific software listed is a sampling of the various support wares that are available for our staff. Any additional software that is needed in order to serve our clients' needs is obtained as required to insure compatibility of the data with our clients' information databases.

We are proud to be a member of the Fostoria and Napoleon Chambers of Commerce, the Ohio Contractors Association, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Water Environment Federation.

Mr. Weasel is a past member of the Executive Board of the Black Swamp Area Boy Scouts, past member of the Junior Achievement Board of Findlay, is a member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, and the University of Toledo Alumni Association. 

Mr. Nigh is a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, the Findlay Home Builders Association and the Ohio Contractors Association.
